Court grants bail to Amulya Leona who raised pro-Pak slogans at anti-CAA rally
Bengaluru court granted bail to Amulya Leona, who raised the Slogan of’Pakistan zindabad’ at an anti-CAA-NRC rally on February 20. Only hours after the sessions court rejected the bail plea of a pupil detained in a sedition case, a magistrate court here has granted bail to Amulya Leona.
Amulya Leona, who had been arrested for raising’Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans during a demonstration in the Freedom Park at Bangalore against the central governments CAA amendment act, was granted conditional bail by the city civil court. She was charged with sedition because of her activities in the existence of All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen head Asaduddin Owaisi.
The incident occurred on February 20 from town through a Rally that was held to protest against the amended citizenship law. While rejecting the plea, the sessisons court had earlier observed that if bail is awarded into Amulya Leona Noronha,” she might involve herself in comparable offences which would influence peace at large.
The City Civil and Sessions Court Justice Vidyadhar Shirahatti had earlier refused the bail application filed by Amulya Leona. The bail application was dismissed because the police officers had not filed a charge sheet. The City Civil Court has given conditional bail.
