ITBP took over on the largest COVID-19 care center in Delhi
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Wednesday took over more than a 10,000 bed capacity COVID-19 maintenance center in Delhi, officials said.
A team of officials from the border guarding force seen the Radha Soami Beas facility and held discussions with the Delhi government and other stakeholders that will be partners in conducting the center.
“The force took over on the COVID-19 maintenance center at Radha Soami Beas in Chattarpur, New Delhi on Wednesday.
“The home ministry had nominated ITBP because the nodal agency to provide doctors and team of other professionals into this centre as requested by the Delhi government,” that an ITBP officer stated.

It is anticipated that a 2,000 bed facility will be operational in the middle from June 26, the other officer said.
The entire bed capacity will go upto 10,200. This is going to be the most significant COVID-19 care centre in the federal capital in addition to the nation, ” he said.
More than 1,000 doctors of the ITBP and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and 2,000 paramedics and security staff are expected to be deployed in the facility, the officer said.
The south Delhi district administration will provide administrative assistance to the middle, he explained.
The ITBP has been the first organisation in the country to have generated a 1,000 bed quarantine centre for coronavirus influenced individuals.
The centre in Chhawla region of south-east Delhi has treated roughly 1,200 people, including 42 foreigners who were attracted to India on special evacuation flights in Wuhan in China and Italy, following the COVID-19 outbreak few months back.

The facility remains operational and can be taking good care of these ITBP troops who are joining back to work after the countrywide lockdown.

The about 90,000 personnel strong force is largely tasked to protect the 3,488 km long Line of Actual Control together with China.
