Facebook plans to ban political ads in US like Twitter.

Facing intense criticism from all quarters, Facebook is likely to ban political advertisements on its own platform, such as Twitter does since the US inches nearer towards the presidential elections in November, the press reported Saturday.

Twitter at October prohibited all types of political advertisements on its own platform. The prospective ban on political advertisements to decrease the spread of disinformation was under consideration since last autumn.

“It’s only one of several choices being contemplated by the Business and no last decision was reached,” stated the announcement, citing resources.

The civil right group’s leaders had been left disappointed after meeting Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg within their issues linked to the spread of content that is amusing in their own platforms.
