Goa govt: Private hospital have to reserve 20% beds for COVID-19 patients

The Goa government has also made it compulsory for many private hospitals from the country to reserve 20 percent of the entire beds to COVID-19 patients.

The decision has been taken through a high speed assembly chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday to examine the COVID-19 pandemic scenario at the coastal nation.

Afterwards, state healthcare manager Dr Jose DSa issued an arrangement that stated, “All hospitals in Goa using ICU facilities need to mandatorily book 20 percent of the beds to COVID-19 patients”

If a private hospital doesn’t obey the arrangement, its license to function could be cancelled or suspended, D’Sa said.

Private hospitals also have been requested to share with all the healthcare directorate details such as rates being billed by COVID-19 patients for therapy, lodging and other processes, according to the purchase.

Till Monday, Goa reported 2,583 COVID-19 cases and 17 deaths as a result of disease.
