Ashish Nehra Comment – India Don’t need to Overdependence on Jasprit Bumrah.
Former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra believes India are becoming heavily reliant on Jasprit Bumrah in the speed department and will need to get rid of this obsession.
Bumrah made his return to international cricket in January and was outside having a stress fracture because September.
However, since his return, Bumrah hasn’t been as effective as he was picking two wickets out of 14 games.
His form ODIs is a larger concern and with only one wicket from six matches heading wicketless in 3 ODIs against New Zealand Bumrah has been off color and Nehra, no stranger to injuries himself, equaling it can be rough for a fast bowler to immediately locate back his rhythm.
You can not expect each sequence to be delivered in by Bumrah. One must remember he’s coming from injury. It is difficult for anyone to keep performing on very top of his game all of the time.
Virat Kohli has had a series, Nehra informed Times Of India. Bowling span balls at the death isn’t a crime. Bowling isn’t an easy thing. In case you have speed then it is possible to play around with your own length and change your pace.
The only noteworthy performance of bumrah was the 3/12 he claimed in the Bay Oval along with the T20.. Two matches ago, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, which derailed the pacer off his trail took apart him. With Bumrah losing a bit of advantage Nehra feels the team management could do in terms of using the remainder of their bowling inventory.
The team management might be much better while picking at the playing XI. The other pacers, besides Bumrah and (Mohammad) Shami, have to know their roles. They have got used to having Bumrah and Shami shooting for the previous couple of decades. There is too much pressure on Bumrah. There’s been very little consistency at the group selection so far,” Nehra said.
Talking of Test cricket, Nehra known as Mohammed Shami the pacer for its format, and pushed to be given a go.
Saini has played with 15 limited-overs games for India done a fantastic job bowling and even picking up 18 wickets, has impressed with his pace and Nehra is convinced that the time is appropriate to give his Test cap to the Delhi pacer.
Shami is the best Evaluation bowler in India. He doesn’t rely on pitches and conditions, the former pacer said. For Test cricket than Umesh Yadav, Saini is ready in the current situation.
Since he’s got the momentum with the group. But he depends on the back-of-a-length deliveries. If he can get his span a bit fuller at his pace, he’d open up more chances of becoming wickets behind the stumps.
