Tourism is the temporary, short-term movement of people to destination outside the places where they normally live and work and perform their activities during the stay at each destination. It includes movements for all purposes. Domestic tourism, which involves residents of the given country traveling only within this country, inbound tourism, involving non-residents traveling in the given country, and outbound tourism, involving residents traveling in another country. The earning from tourism has made it one of the world’s largest industries. It is the fastest growing sector of global trade.

Human resource planning involves all persons working in tourism, regardless of whether their income comes directly from serving a tourist or a non-tourist. It is thus the process of identifying the gap between current and future business situation. As a result of the increasing competition, tourism destinations and companies have more and more need of a strong policy based on:
