Covid-19 Update: Delhi got its second plasma bank
Delhi got its second plasma bank, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurating the facility at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital.
The chief minister had inaugurated the first centre in the state-run Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences.
” Plasma treatment is actually valuable in saving lives. We cannot say it is 100 percent powerful… but the passing rate has decreased in Delhi and plasma plays a part in it,” the chief minister said at the launch.
The LNJP Hospital is situated in central Delhi, so it is readily available to people willing to donate plasma, he said.
COVID-19 patients can donate their plasma 14 days following healing.
Men and women should be aged between 18 and 60 and weigh less than 50 pounds.
Women who have been pregnant at some time in their life, people with diabetes, higher blood pressure, cancer survivors, those with lung, liver, heart and kidney ailments and hypertension can’t donate plasma.
