Domestic and International Travel Guidelines Issued by Health Ministry

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in Perspective of Traveling Restrictions being eased beneath the coronavirus outbreak issued recommendations for domestic and international travel. A few of the guidelines such as wearing face covers/masks throughout the whole journey, following social distancing norms and thermal screening done by airports across most states and union territories.

Civil aviation ministry Hardeep Puri stated as per the Guidelines, asymptomatic domestic passengers will soon be allowed to go for the advice that they shall self-monitor their wellbeing for 14 days. In the event , they develop some symptoms, they will notify the district surveillance officer or the state/national telephone center.

Dos and Don’ts shall be supplied tickets to Travellers by agencies worried, said the ministry’s guidelines for domestic travel (air/train/inter-state bus travel).

All passengers shall be advised to download the Arogya Setu Program on their mobile devices, it said.

In its own guidelines for national travel, the health ministry Said suitable statement about COVID-19 for example precautionary measures to be followed shall be produced in airports, railway stations and bus terminals as well as in flights, buses and trains. The states/UTs will make certain that all passengers undergo thermal screening in the point of departure and just asymptomatic passengers are permitted to board the airport, bus or train.

During boarding and travel, all passengers will use face Covers or masks and will also follow hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene and also maintain environmental hygiene, the ministry said in its instructions. At airports, railroad stations and bus terminalsare required measures to guarantee social distancing shall be obtained, the guidelines stated.

Airports, railway stations and bus terminals must be. Frequently sanitised or sterile and the access to soaps and sanitisers will be ensured, the health ministry said.

Thermal screening at exit point shall be organized and Asymptomatic passengers are allowed to go for the guidance that they will self-monitor their wellbeing for 14 weeks, the guidelines said. “If they develop some symptoms, they will notify the district surveillance officer or the state/national call center (1075),” they said. Those discovered symptomatic will be isolated and carried to the nearest gym and will be evaluated for clinical seriousness at the gym, the guidelines said. Those having severe or moderate symptoms will be admitted into committed COVID health centers and managed so, the guidelines said.

Those having moderate symptoms will be given the option of dwelling Isolation or isolated in the COVID Care Centre (both private & public facilities) as suitable and analyzed according to ICMR protocol,” they said.

“If convinced, they will continue in COVID Care Centre And will be managed according to clinical protocol. In case, any signs grow they will inform the district surveillance officer or the state or the federal call centre (1075), it said.

The ministry stated that states can also develop their own Protocol with regards to quarantine and isolation according to their evaluation.
