TikTok deleted over 6 million users videos from India.
TikTok, a popular short video app, Friday said it has eliminated more than 6 million videos from India which have breached its community instructions since July this past year.
“This is a part of all TikTok’s ongoing attempts to generate its countless users feel secure and comfortable inside the community by enabling them with the ideal resources and tools,” it said in an announcement.
The business also has introduced a ‘age-gate’ attribute for the new users which is only going to let users aged 13 years and over just to login and make an account on TikTok.
It doesn’t disclose information like country-specific user amounts. It said, will further increase the security mechanisms in place to make sure that mobile users don’t utilize the system.

As a worldwide community, security continues to be among TikTok’s chief priorities,” (These measures ) fortify our continuing commitment to make sure our system remains a secure and positive area for our customers and we release our duties under the Intermediary Modes of India, at a purposeful fashion,” TikTok Director (Global Public Policy) Helena Lersch explained.
These announcements closely follow the launch of TikTok’s Safety Centre and resource pages tackling bullying activities in 10 major local Indian languages.
Additionally, TikTok has recently added an advisory for the upcoming general elections in English and 10 major local languages on the Safety Centre page that links to the website of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
