WhatsApp has partnered with Cyber Peace Foundation (CPF) to create awareness on cyber safety among students.
The partners plan to achieve approximately 15,000 students in five Indian states — Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Maharashtra — from the end of this season under the initial phase of a pan-India programme, a statement said.
This latest initiative builds on a previous partnership under the”e-Raksha” programme that reached thousands of students, it included.
CPF will instruct teachers, parents and pupils utilizing a co-created program to arm them with tips and tips to boost online security for kids in consultation with UNICEF and state police authorities.
At the conclusion of these training’s, the participants will create a more “Cyber Peace Club” to make sure this knowledge is additional institutionalized and handle a repository of guidance which other students can refer to for boosting online child safety, the announcement said.

“Increasingly as students spend more time on the internet, they are more vulnerable to cyber threats such as cyberbullying, stumbling across child abuse material, cybercriminals disrupting online courses, the spread of data, privacy problems and more,” Vineet Kumar, president and founder of Cyber Peace Foundation, stated.
This educational partnership a part of why WhatsApp’s multi-year campaign on safety focusing on electronic literacy and generating awareness that has impacted millions, in addition to inculcating behavioural changes which may help tackle the challenges of internet safety, the statement said.
