Write the techniques which evolved during the Swadeshi Movement.

The agitation against the partition with lots of noise and protest went into deaf ears. British were not at all.affected by the various furious protestations. Thus, the nationalist switched over to the method of `Swadeshi’ to give impetus to their movement. It started with boycott of British goods followed by inspiring the customers to buy Indian goods only. Swadeshi melas’ or fairs were organized to display and sell handicrafts and other goods. The nationalists observed ‘Rakhsha Bandhan’ tying of thread on each-other’s wrists to propagate brotherhood. Students picketed the shops selling British goods. A large number of nationalists volunteer groups (Samitis) emerged. These Samitis taught the essentials of Swadeshi and boycott.
